It's Alive!!

Your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
                                                                    Psalm 139:16

God knew us before he even recorded anything about us in His books.  That even expands my thinking of how grand and big God is.  Could it be hundreds or thousands of years before we were recorded? Did He always know us? Wanting to create us? Looking forward to making us?

A gasp and cry fills the room.  A woman cries over the treasure that was given to her.  So small and fragile yet strong, he breathes the breath of life.  He's Alive!

A shriek pierces the night.  A woman cries over the loss of her treasure.  She was not loved but used as an object, a tool to gain what was wanted so desperately in that moment.   She feels that there is no other choice for her.  No hope.  How could this...thing inside her be human?!  She goes to uncaring cruel hands that take the  thing out of her. It is discarded. There is no breath, no life. Just death.

Birth and death.  Those are two natural things in life.  But death from abortion is not natural.  That is one of the most cruelest things you could ever let be done to your child.  And life. Does it matter where life comes from no matter how unnatural?

                                       That's not Natural

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mothers womb.
                                                                                                 Psalm 139:13

Artificial wombs.  Haven't heard about it?  That is one of the worlds newest explorations.  A mouse was grown full term in an artificial womb and even a human child was grown for a few weeks or months then was terminated!!

If children are grown in artificial wombs that would be horrific.  Life would become less sacred to a lot of people.  Children could be grown and harvested on demand for sex slavery, labor, and even for gaining organs for others; who knows what other countless horrors.   Children are already being used for evil.  Why make children that would directly serve that purpose?

You may be feeling angry  that God isn't doing anything.  How can He allow such abominations to happen on this earth!!  Maybe that's why you're here. God gave us all the gift of choice.  What will you do?  Life is being threatened every day.  Will you stand and say "enough!" or will you ignore and wither until you're nothing but a walking corpse?  If Christ lives in you,  you are more alive than those who don't have him.  Fight for the weak.  You don't need to help with a charity.  The most powerful thing you can do is pray and ask God to show you how you can help in this world. Ask Him, " what do you want me to do?"

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved.
                                                                                                                        Ephesians 2:4-5

"I'm alive, alive I say!"

The God of Sorrow

" I hate I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies.  Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them.  Though you bring me choice fellowship offerings I will have no regard for them."
                                                                                                                Amos 5:21-22

In the Old Testament there was so much death and destruction!  I used to be so confused about God.  In the Old Testament he seemed harsh, impatient and angry all the time.  Then, in the New Testament he sent his son Jesus down and now he's loving and patient.  Did God really change? Is God hateful or... is it something else?

Listen Please, I beg of you!

Hear this word the Lord has spoken against you, O people of Israel- against the whole family I brought up out of Egypt:
                                                                    Amos 3:1

You read that a lot in the first part of the Bible. And even in the New Testament.  God seemed like he was constantly saying, "Listen to me,  hear my words, the Lord has spoken" etc.  Was God being desperate and that drove him to become so angry? I think it's the opposite.

Then the Lord God said to the woman, "what is it this you have done?"
                                                                                                           Genesis 3:13

God was hurting to see the people turning from him.  God could see the good that he had for all those people. The potential, the joy, and bounty.  But they chose sin. They chose the ways of the dark one and condemned themselves.  You may think 'why didn't God give all those people a chance? Why did he have to kill them right away?' When you read your Bible, read closely. At points you can see that God sent prophets to all the tribes in the land and gave them years to tell them to turn back to God and avoid his judgment.  Sometimes the people did turn back. Like the whole city of Nineveh turned back to God through Jonah.

As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it.
                                                                                                                  Luke 19:41

In that small verse that was when Jesus entered Jerusalem on the donkey and everyone was yelling Hosanna.  Jesus cried... he was probably sobbing.  It pained him that Jerusalem didn't even know that the one who would give them peace was entering the city right before their eyes!  Look at your own city today. What do you see?  Do you think Jesus would be proud or cry bitterly?

God cares for you and me so much.  I do admit that I doubted God's love today! But he never leaves, never forsakes, or never turns us away. God is the same yesterday, today and forever! It may seem like he changed but he never has. God wants to get to know you. He is The God of sorrow. He understands your pain, your heartache.  He also is the God of hope. There is always hope where we think there isn't.
