Today is the Fifty-Second day of the 86 Day Challenge.
The story today is about a woman named Ruth.
Ruth lived in Moab but, she married a man from Bethlehem. Ruth's mother in law was named Naomi; her husband, Elimelech died and she became a widow. After about ten years, Naomi's sons died and Ruth and her sister in law became widows. Ruth decided that she would go back to her hometown and she told Ruth and Orpah to marry and stay in their own town. Orpah left but Ruth stayed with her.
Ruth and Naomi arrived in Bethlehem in time for the barley harvest!
The next day Ruth set to work in a grain field to glean the left overs. Ruth worked diligently behind the harvesters. Ruth didn't know that she was gleaning in the field of Boaz who was from the tribe of Elimelech! Boaz found out who Ruth was and he told her she could work with his servant girls and she could get water when she wanted and that he would watch over her. Ruth was amazed that he noticed her, a foreigner! Boaz told her that he heard all about the kindness she showed to her mother in law.
Ruth told Naomi about what happened that day and Naomi was excited to tell her that Boaz was a close relative and a kinsmen redeemer!
If you want to read the whole story it's found in The Bible in the book of Ruth.
Ruth and Boaz were married and loved each other greatly. Ruth was kind and helpful to her mother in law. She didn't focus on how she could look for another man but, she focused on how she could please God. Who know's, when your'e working hard at school, your job or whatever. Your future husband could be watching you.
This blog is based on the Proverbs 31 woman. Being a woman of noble character is hard. It requires a lot of dedication, patience, stamina, kindness and love. This blog is for single and married women, young and old. Whatever we do in our life, the small and big things, we don't have to be beautiful enough, smart enough or thin enough to do great things in God's Kingdom. " A wife(or woman) of noble character who can find?"
