I don't know if you haven't noticed those two cuties up there. That's Kale the orange one and his sister Lacy. They're my older sister's cats. She adopted them around three or four years ago. As you can see they're very close.
For the last three weeks or so my family and I have been taking them for rides in our Yukon. They were in separate kennels. . . oh and did I mention that there both feral? When first getting them into the kennels we had to lower them in with the kennel standing up. Once in, they would cry, pant, go in panicked circles and do it all over again. I felt sorry for them for the first couple times but, then I started telling and reminding myself that it had to be done. You see, we're moving across the country starting tomorrow! They need to be familiar with the kennels and riding.
What does this have to do with me?
This has everything to do with you. We are just like Kale and Lacey. We as the human race are fearful. My sister's kitties have had hiding spots they would run to when "trouble" seemed to come from around the corner. We took those places away while selling and packing things. Right now they have no clue what's going on or why their lives are collapsing around their whiskers. But I know what's going on and where we're going. Doesn't that sound familiar?
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11
When we go through times of distress, trouble and fear. We usually run to people, things and ourselves for comfort. Nah ah, that doesn't work.
Two weeks ago a friend gave us a cage that you would put your dog in when you leave the house or something (that was an answer to prayer). Both of them can fit in together with space to spare. Now, they are more relaxed and can take comfort in each other.
I know they're just cats but what about you and me? We don't know what God has in store for us. We panic and go into a frenzy when things don't go our way. That's when we need to trust God that He knows where we're going and even though things may look horrible now, what we're heading to is more beautiful then we can imagine.
