Day six of
the challenge. Tuesdays I will post a verse.
The verse today is found in 1 Corinthians
1:27,
"God has chosen the foolish things
of the world to shame the wise."
We may think that things that God wants us
to do is foolish, or others may think that. Like waiting for your future
husband, seems very foolish to many. When I was eight I wanted an American Girl
doll so much! My sisters and I would look through the magazine as much as we could.
Vanessa got Samantha the doll for her tenth birthday! I was happy for her but
sad as well. My parents said we (Brittany and Courtney and I) had to wait
until we were ten until we got one. Two Years!!!! That was too long to wait. I
thought that was stupid, I played with dolls all the time this one wasn't that
different.
As the days, weeks and months past I became
more content and patient. I enjoyed watching Vanessa comb Samantha's hair and
play with her. I enjoyed thinking what I would do with Molly the doll.
Our ninth birthday came up. One year
closer! Strangely my sisters and I got the same size box from our parents. We
opened it. Molly stared up at me!!!! I got her earlier than expected. I
cherished her and handled her with care after getting her.
If I got what I wanted right when I got
it and ignored the "foolish" way I wouldn't have been so thankful for
Molly. It’s exactly the same with your future husband. You will cherish him
even more knowing that you waited just for him.
