Today is the Eighty-Third day of the 86 Day Challenge.
The last verse of encouragement is from James 1:2.
'Consider it pure joy brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds.'
It's scary to go through turmoil. How can we ever think that a trial can be joyful? Though we can never avoid them.
Jesus wants us to consider trials a joy because it builds our character!
An oyster's mantle is what helps the oyster shell to grow with the oyster. When something foreign like a grain of sand gets between the mantel and shell the oyster covers up that irritated spot with nacre, a substance that helps make the shell. Over time, a pearl is formed. Pearls are one of the most beautiful stones in the world and they have to be created by something small and painful. It's the same with us. When something foreign comes in your life or when waiting for your future husband becomes too overwhelming, remember that is only how your character will become defined.
